3 – Airdrieonians beat Raith Rovers 3-0 at Stark’s Park to pick up just their second victory of the William Hill Championship season. Goals from Gavin Gallagher, Euan Henderson and Chris Mochrie helped the Diamonds move to within a point of Ross County at the foot of the table. Airdrie have taken seven points from four matches since Aaron Taylor-Sinclair took over as caretaker manager last month – they had previously managed just four from their opening 11 games. The Diamonds have lost just one of their 11 matches against Rovers since the start of the 2023/24 campaign – they have seven wins and three draws in that period.
22 – Greenock Morton moved to within two points of the play-off places in the William Hill Championship thanks to a 3-0 victory over Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium. Nathan Shaw, Cammy MacPherson and Michael Garrity were all on the scoresheet as Dougie Imrie’s side recorded back-to-back league victories for the first time this season. The Ton recorded their biggest away win in any competition since they defeated Dunfermline Athletic 5-0 at East End Park in February 2024. This was Morton’s first win in Dingwall in over 22 years – they had suffered 10 defeats and four draws since an Alex Williams double handed them a 2-1 victory in a Scottish Cup tie in January 2003.
4 – East Fife defeated Stenhousemuir 1-0 at MGM Timber Bayview to climb into the top four of William Hill League 1. Tommy Goss scored the only goal of the game to help Dick Campbell’s side move to within four points of leaders Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Fifers are unbeaten in 11 home matches in all competitions – this is their longest run without defeat in Methil since January-August 2016, when Saturday’s opposing manager Gary Naysmith led them to a run of 12 unbeaten.
11 – Cove Rangers recorded their second victory of the William Hill League 1 campaign by defeating Hamilton Academical 2-1 at Balmoral Stadium. Goals from David Eguaibor and Mitch Megginson ensured Paul Hartley’s side moved to within a point of 9th placed Kelty Hearts. Eguaibor has already scored 11 goals in all competitions since joining from Irish club Cobh Ramblers in the summer. Cove ended a run of 10 home league matches without a victory – they had drawn four and lost six since beating Queen of the South 3-1 in early March.
4 – Forfar Athletic thumped Stirling Albion 4-0 at Forthbank to climb to fifth place in the William Hill League 2 table. Stuart Morrison, Scott Shepherd, Martin Rennie and Mark Whatley all found the net to keep Jim Weir’s side just two points off a play-off place. This was Forfar’s biggest away win in almost four years, since they defeated Edinburgh City by the same scoreline in December 2021. The Loons have won both games against the Binos this season, scoring four goals on both occasions – prior to this they hadn’t beaten them in 10 league matches.
