Premier Sports Cup MD5 review

Dons top group | Dundee United qualify | Stenhousemuir through

Group A
Aberdeen beat Kelty Hearts 3-0 at Pittodrie to seal top spot and a seeded place in tomorrow's draw for the last 16. Queen's Park defeated Queen of the South 3-1 at Lesser Hampden to finish second - they will qualify as one of the best runners-up if Dunfermline Athletic don't beat St Mirren tomorrow.

Group B
Montrose just needed a draw to win the group but lost 2-0 at home to The Spartans and missed out on a place in the last 16, with Dundee United going through. Arbroath edged out Stirling Albion 1-0 at Gayfield.

Group C
Holders St Mirren will clinch top spot with a point against Dunfermline Athletic in Paisley on Sunday, live on Premier Sports at 3.00pm. A win for the Pars would see them qualify as one of the best runners-up at the expense of Queen's Park. Dumbarton beat Cove Rangers 2-0 at Cliftonhill in the other game today.

Group D
Ross County booked their place in the last 16 as group winners thanks to a 3-0 victory away to Airdrieonians. Dundee saw off Clyde 4-0 at Dens Park to qualify as one of the best runners-up.

Group E
Stenhousemuir topped the section after beating Livingston on penalties following a 0-0 draw at Ochilview while Partick Thistle progress as one of the best runners-up. Forfar Athletic beat Brechin City 3-1 at Station Park.

Group F
Inverness CT won the group after beating Greenock Morton 1-0 at Cappielow but St Johnstone are out after being held to a 1-1 draw by East Fife at McDiarmid Park, with the visitors winning the shoot-out.

Group G
Ayr United saw off Alloa Athletic 4-1 at Somerset Park to secure first place with a 100% record. Falkirk, who were already out, were 3-0 winners at home to Stranraer.

Group H
Kilmarnock claimed top spot despite being held to a 0-0 draw at Peterhead then losing on penalties. Hamilton Accies thrashed Elgin City 5-0 at New Douglas Park to secure second place but it wasn't enough to progress.
