Heart of Midlothian Celtic William Hill Premiership

Wins for Hearts and Celtic

Leaders stay six points clear

Heart of Midlothian remain six points clear at the top of the William Hill Premiership table after beating St Mirren 2-0 at Tynecastle on Wednesday evening.

Derek McInnes' side had Beni Baningime sent off after just 15 minutes but second-half goals from Lawrence Shankland and Tomas Magnusson secured a vital win.

Celtic moved into second place with a 1-0 victory at the Falkirk Stadium. The Bairns paid the price for missing some good chances before Benjamin Nygren headed in a 43rd-minute corner.
