Partick Thistle William Hill Championship

Wilson wins October prize

Partick Thistle boss rewarded for fine form

Partick Thistle manager, Mark Wilson, has been named Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month for October.

Starting the month with successive 1-1 draws against Arbroath and Greenock Morton, Thistle claimed home victories over Ross County and Ayr United, picking up eight points throughout the month.

Wilson, who was appointed on a permanent basis this summer, has guided the Firhill men to second place in the William Hill Championship.

Wilson, said: "This is maybe in my name but it has been achieved thanks to the efforts of the people on the football staff, and on the club staff who do so much diligent work behind the scenes.

"The work our coaches put in during the week can be seen on match days. Alex Rae invests a lot of time in our midfielders and the quantity, and quality, of goals from them is testament to that. Our goalkeepers have chipped in with important saves and that is a result of the work Kenny Arthur does with them.

"We are supported really well by Robin Dicke’s medical team but the teamwork here goes beyond the roles that people see in training and in match-days. People in the office always go that extra mile for me and the players to ensure that everything is in place to allow us to prepare properly and they have played a significant part in this recognition."
