What can happen in the SPFL this weekend?

Issues which can be decided in this fixture round

We’re firmly in the business end of the William Hill SPFL season so what can be decided this weekend?

We will update this article ahead of each weekend fixture round between now and the season finale so you know exactly what is at stake.

Weekend 24-26 April

William Hill Premiership

Automatic Relegation:
Livingston’s relegation from the top flight will be confirmed if they lose to St. Mirren in Paisley and Kilmarnock pick up any points at Pittodrie.

The Lions sit 12 points adrift of Kilmarnock with 15 to play for.

William Hill Championship

Champions: St. Johnstone are the 2025/26 William Hill Championship winners and will receive the trophy at McDiarmid Park after Friday’s clash with Raith Rovers, LIVE on BBC Scotland.

Promotion Play-Offs: Partick Thistle have guaranteed second place while Arbroath have also secured their spot in the William Hill Premiership Play-Offs.

Dunfermline Athletic are five points clear of Raith Rovers with six available. The Pars could be safely in the play-offs before taking to the field against Queen’s Park on Saturday.

Automatic Relegation: Ross County would be relegated to William Hill League 1 if they lose at home to Greenock Morton and Airdrieonians beat Ayr United.

William Hill League 1

Automatic Promotion: Inverness CT head into the penultimate round with a four-point advantage over nearest challengers Stenhousemuir, who host Alloa Athletic.

The Highlanders will guarantee the William Hill League 1 crown if they defeat East Fife on Saturday.

A draw would be enough for Inverness if Stenny fail to beat Alloa. If both of the top two lose on Saturday then that would also see Scott Kellacher’s team named champions.

An Inverness loss and a draw between the Warriors and Alloa would leave the gap at three points with Inverness CT holding a superior goal difference heading into the final game of the campaign.

Promotion Play-Offs: Alloa Athletic and Queen of the South will take part in the William Hill Championship Play-Offs and they’ll be joined by either Inverness CT or Stenhousemuir as well as the team who finishes in 9th place in the second tier.

Automatic Relegation: Kelty Hearts must defeat Cove Rangers at home to have any chance of overtaking Hamilton Academical.

A victory for Hamilton Accies at home to Peterhead would consign Kelty to a place in William Hill League 2 for 2026/27.

William Hill League 2

Automatic Promotion: East Kilbride and The Spartans continue to be separated by a single point heading into week 35. Mick Kennedy’s side are away to Dumbarton while The Spartans host Elgin City.

Victory for East Kilbride coupled with an Elgin win would bring the title race to an end.

Any other combination of results will take this thrilling race down to the final day.

Promotion Play-Offs: Clyde will join either East Kilbride or The Spartans in the promotion play-offs.

The race for 4th is open with Forfar Athletic sitting three points ahead of Stranraer and Elgin City with a six-point gap to Annan Athletic.

Forfar host Edinburgh City, Stranraer are at home to Stirling Albion while Annan visit Clyde.

Pyramid Play-Off: Edinburgh City are already confirmed in this spot with two games of the season remaining.
