Facts and figures from the SPFL and Scottish Cup semi-finals...

19 – Dunfermline Athletic reached the Scottish Cup final by defeating Falkirk 4-2 on penalties following a 0-0 draw at Hampden. This will be the Pars’ first major cup final in 19 years, since they were beaten 1-0 by Celtic in the 2007 Scottish Cup final. This is just the second time Dunfermline have knocked Falkirk out of the Scottish Cup – the other was back in 1973/74, when they won a Round 3 tie 1-0 at East End Park following a draw at Brockville. Neil Lennon’s side have knocked out three William Hill Premiership clubs on their way to this season’s final without conceding a goal – they also beat Hibernian 1-0 in Round 4 and Aberdeen 3-0 in the quarter-final.

6 – Celtic defeated St Mirren 6-2 after extra time at Hampden to seal their place in the Scottish Cup final. Goals from Daizen Maeda and Anthony Ralston in normal time were cancelled out by a Mikael Mandron double but in extra time the Hoops struck four times in six minutes through Kelechi Iheanacho (2), Luke McCowan and Benjamin Nygren. This is the first time Celtic have scored six goals in a Scottish Cup semi-final – they had previously scored five on six occasions. It is also the highest scoring Scottish Cup semi since 1897, when Rangers beat Morton 7-2.

2 – Arbroath beat Raith Rovers 2-1 at Gayfield to secure a top-four finish in the William Hill Championship. Jacob MacIntyre and Findlay Marshall scored for the Red Lichties as they ensured they will take part in the Premiership play-offs next month. Marshall, who turned 20 on Friday, has scored 12 league goals this season – only Josh McPake and Andrew Tod have scored more in the William Hill Championship. Co-managers Colin Hamilton and David Gold were both part of the Arbroath side which made the play-offs in 2021/22 but lost in the semi-final – they will now be hoping to take the club back to the top flight for the first time since 1974/75.

1 – Inverness CT took a huge step closer to the William Hill League 1 title thanks to a 1-0 victory over Kelty Hearts at the Sarens PSG Stadium. A Jack Brydon own goal was enough for Scott Kellacher’s side to secure three crucial points and move four clear of Stenhousemuir with just two matches remaining. The Caley Jags are unbeaten in their last 16 league matches – their last defeat came in their final game of 2025, when they lost 2-1 away to Montrose. This is their best run since John Robertson led them on a run of 25 without defeat from March-November 2018.

4 – Forfar Athletic beat Stranraer 1-0 at Stair Park to climb back into the top four of William Hill League 2. Jake Sutherland scored the only goal as Jim Weir’s side leapfrogged their opponents into the final promotion play-off spot. Forfar are now three points clear of both Stranraer and Elgin City with just two matches remaining. The Loons have hit form at just the right time – they have won three consecutive league matches for the first time in over two years, including wins against both their main contenders for fourth. Forfar have lost just once in their last seven visits to Stranraer – that defeat came in the first meeting of the clubs this season in November.
