We’re firmly in the business end of the William Hill SPFL season so what can be decided this weekend?
We will update this article ahead of each weekend fixture round between now and the season finale so you know exactly what is at stake.
Weekend 1-4 May
William Hill Premiership
Automatic Relegation: Livingston’s relegation from the top flight could be confirmed if they lose to Aberdeen on Friday night and Kilmarnock pick up any points against Dundee United on Saturday.
The Lions sit 9 points adrift of Kilmarnock with 12 to play for.
William Hill Championship
Champions: St. Johnstone are the 2025/26 William Hill Championship winners and will end their campaign after Friday’s clash with Ayr United at Somerset Park.
Promotion Play-Offs: Partick Thistle, Arbroath and Dunfermline Athletic are locked in the William Hill Premiership Play-Offs. Dunfermline face Arbroath on Friday night with the result helping to determine who will have home advantage in the second leg of their play-off quarter-final on May 8. The first leg takes place on Tuesday May 5 with both play-off matches LIVE on BBC Scotland.
Partick Thistle are guaranteed to finish second and they will await the winner of the Arbroath and Dunfermline tie.

Automatic Relegation: It is all to play for at the foot of the William Hill Championship with three teams in danger of finishing in 10th place.
Ross County currently occupy that spot on 34 points ahead of their trip to Raith Rovers, LIVE on BBC Scotland, kick off 7.45pm.
The Staggies can’t finish any higher than 9th place due to rivals Greenock Morton and Airdrieonians facing each other on the final day. A draw for the ‘Ton at Cappielow would ensure Morton finish above Airdrieonians and Ross County but leaves the Diamonds vulnerable to being overtaken by County should they win in Kirkcaldy.
Should County draw in Fife then they would only avoid 10th spot if Airdrieonians to lose by at least six goals.
The team finishing in ninth place will contest the William Hill Championship Play-Offs.
William Hill League 1
Automatic Promotion: Inverness CT are two points clear of Stenhousemuir heading into Helicopter Saturday.
Scott Kellacher’s side know a win at home to Hamilton Academical will clinch their return to the William Hill Championship, although a draw may be enough given their superior goal difference, with Darian MacKinnon’s Hamilton also aiming to win to avoid finishing in ninth place.
Gary Naymith’s Stenhousemuir head to Montrose looking for a win to keep their title hopes alive, and the chance to win their second ever league title just two years after winning their first when they won William Hill League 2 in season 2023/24.
A Hamilton win and a Stenhousemuir triumph in Angus will crown the Warriors as champions.
Promotion Play-Offs: Alloa Athletic and Queen of the South will take part in the William Hill Championship Play-Offs and they’ll be joined by either Inverness CT or Stenhousemuir as well as the team who finishes in 9th place in the second tier.
Relegation Play-Offs: Three teams could yet finish in ninth place.
As detailed above, Hamilton must claim a positive result in Inverness to have any chance of escaping the play-off position.
Cove Rangers sit in 7th place on 37 points and they host East Fife, 8th with 35 points.
If Cove avoid defeat, then they maintain their William Hill League 1 berth. East Fife can only guarantee safety by winning at Cove. Should East Fife lose at the Balmoral Stadium then a draw would be enough for Hamilton to send Dick Campbell’s men into the play-offs.
Automatic Relegation: Kelty Hearts will be playing in William Hill League 2 next season.
William Hill League 2
Automatic Promotion: In William Hill League 2, Mick Kennedy’s East Kilbride know a draw at home to Clyde will clinch promotion in their first season as an SPFL Club.
Second-placed The Spartans know they need to win away at Stirling Albion and hope East Kilbride lose with Dougie Samuel’s men also sitting five goals behind the leaders on goal difference.
Promotion Play-Offs: Clyde and Forfar Athletic will join either East Kilbride or The Spartans in the promotion play-offs.
Pyramid Play-Off: Edinburgh City are already confirmed in this spot ahead of their final game of the regular season at home to Dumbarton.
