Hamilton Academical has today received a nine-point deduction following an SPFL Disciplinary Tribunal.
SPFL Rules require all member clubs to hold a Bronze-level Scottish FA Club Licence at 31 March.
The club was given multiple extensions to this date to comply, but has failed to do so, which led to disciplinary proceedings.
The club admitted breaching these Rules following the award by the Scottish FA of an Entry-level Licence due to the club’s accounts being unaudited.
At a hearing today (Tuesday 16 December, 2025) an SPFL Disciplinary Tribunal imposed the following sanctions for the club’s failure to hold a Bronze level Licence:
(i) The club was reprimanded and warned as to its future conduct; and
(ii) The club was deducted nine points with immediate effect.
The William Hill League 1 table will be updated accordingly.
