Wins for Hearts & Rangers | Stenhousemuir close in | East Kilbride go top

Heart of Midlothian have a three-point lead at the top of the William Hill Premiership after Oisin McEntee scored the only goal in a 1-0 home win over Dundee. Rangers saw off Aberdeen 4-1 at Ibrox in the late game to go second in the table while Celtic are away to Dundee United on Sunday, live on Sky Sports, kick-off 12.30pm. Fourth-placed Motherwell remain six points ahead of Hibernian following their 0-0 draw at Fir Park. Falkirk still need a point to confirm a top-six place following their 2-1 home defeat to St Mirren while Kilmarnock beat bottom club Livingston 2-0 at Rugby Park.

Third-placed Arbroath beat Queen’s Park 1-0 at Gayfield in the William Hill Championship while Dunfermline Athletic hit back to draw 2-2 at Ross County. Greenock Morton earned an important 1-0 win over Ayr United at Somerset Park and Raith Rovers also eased their relegation fears with a 3-1 defeat of Airdrieonians, who are bottom of the table.

Stenhousemuir were the only winners in William Hill League 1, beating bottom club Kelty Hearts 2-0 at Ochilview to move to with a point of leaders Inverness CT. Caley Thistle drew 1-1 away to third-placed Alloa Athletic while Queen of the South, in fourth spot, drew 2-2 with East Fife at Palmerston. Peterhead and Montrose drew 1-1 at Balmoor and it was 2-2 between Cove Rangers and Hamilton Accies at Balmoral Stadium. 

East Kilbride returned to the top of William Hill League 2 thanks to a 3-2 home win over Stirling Albion while title rivals The Spartans were held to a 1-1 draw by Forfar Athletic at Station Park. Third-placed Clyde defeated Stranraer 2-1 at New Douglas Park while Elgin City boosted their play-off hopes by beating Edinburgh City 3-0 at Meadowbank Stadium. Dumbarton were 2-1 winners at home to Annan Athletic to move nine points clear of bottom club Edinburgh.
