William Hill Championship

Morton survive as County relegated

Airdrie face the play-offs

Greenock Morton have retained their William Hill Championship status after a 1-1 draw with Airdrieonians at Cappielow on Friday night. Euan Henderson gave the Diamonds the lead but they had Lewis Strapp sent off and Curtis Main headed the crucial equaliser in 72 minutes.

Airdrie now face the play-offs but Ross County have been relegated after a 3-2 defeat to Raith Rovers at Stark's Park. The Staggies led for an hour through Kieran Phillips but Innes Cameron equalised in 76 minutes and Jack Hamilton made it 2-1 soon after. Jayden Carbon levelled things up deep into stoppage time but the hosts won it when Josh Mullin converted a 98th-minute penalty.

Champions St Johnstone signed off with a 1-0 victory over Ayr United at Somerset Park while runners-up Partick Thistle drew 1-1 with Queen's Park at Firhill. It was 0-0 between Dunfermline Athletic and Arbroath at East End Park and the teams will meet again next week in the play-off quarter-finals.

In the William Hill Premiership, bottom club Livingston twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen in West Lothian.
