Celtic claimed a first victory in Germany but it was not enough to progress in the Europa League knock-out round play-offs.
Martin O'Neill's men went down 4-1 in Glasgow in the first leg but a Luke McCowan goal after just 30 seconds gave them a 1-0 win on the night.
