Daizen Maeda opened the scoring in the capital after 27 minutes and Arne Engels got the second goal less than 60 seconds later. Martin Boyle pulled one back for David Gray's men from the penalty spot early in the second half.
Nicky Devlin scored the only goal with 10 minutes left as Aberdeen won 1-0 at bottom club Livingston to climb to seventh place in the table.
